Margalla Hills Hosts Wildlife Conservation, Climate Action Drive
Islamabad, July 19: Students, hikers and conservation volunteers joined a community cleanup drive at Margalla Hills National Park on Sunday to promote wildlife conservation, biodiversity protection and climate action through public participation.
Islamabad Wildlife Management Board in collaboration with the Green Action Forum, Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Friends of MHNP organized the event at Margalla Hills according to a post on X.

The students from Mass Communication and Psychology Departments of National University of Modern Languages ( NUML) participated in the derive and collected litter at Trail 5.
Hikers and visitors also joined the event reflecting the commitment of local community to collective action for nation conservation and biodiversity protection, according to a X post.
The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) regularly organizes educational sessions and public awareness compaigns to engage public of different walks of life in wildlife conservation, environmental protection and climate mitigation.
These initiatives bring together students, families, hikers, photographers, nature enthusiasts, volunteers, researchers and local communities through interactive events designed to enhance public understanding of rich natural heritage.
Activities typically educate ecological importance through guided nature walks, photography workshops, wildlife awareness sessions, educational exhibitions, clean-up campaigns, and photo scavenger hunts to document local flora and fauna and their value.
By combining environmental education with recreational outdoor activities, the IWMB also uses these events to educate participants about the threats facing biodiversity, including habitat degradation, illegal hunting, plastic pollution and forest fires.
